When introducing changes at work (or in life outside of the workplace,) you may need to overcome resistance or concerns
The resistance may be related to a person’s fear of what this will mean to them, they may be thinking about what they will lose, or they may have enough other stuff going on in their lives and one more thing may be the final straw
Ask what causes people to stay in anger and sadness
What?
You will all have your own ‘WHAT’ that you need to achieve with the change you are looking to implement. You need to be really clear on this.
Make sure everyone is clear on a change they want to make, everyone has their ‘WHAT’ – if people don’t have a need to implement a change ensure they are paired up with someone who does
If there is one global issue in an organisation, or for many (e.g. return to workplace after Covid) then you can agree the WHAT as a whole group
Then we need to think of other questions to be able to answer including the ‘what’ we are changing
